Alex Jackson,
YEOVIL dancer is stealing the hearts of millions of audiences with his presence
along A List stars across the world onstage. Currently, he has secured yearlong
contract for performing in the London Westend, Thriller Live. In the month of June, Alex won the role of a dancing ensemble
member.
Alex stated,
“The production held open auditions back in June and around 100 people turned
up, including me. For the audition we had to learn one of the routines from the
show which happened to be Thriller. I felt pretty confident with how I did in
the first audition. They then took it down to the final few and said they'd let
us know in a few weeks' time. Then they phoned me up and offered me the role.”
He further
added, “Rehearsals have been amazing but they've very touch. We've had to learn
25 routines and I've learned so much. It's really challenging but amazing at
the same time. We're in the rehearsal room from 10am – 6pm everyday preparing
for the show. I think when the shows start it will actually be easier. We'll
have the day free and then come in for the shows in the evening.”
At The Lyric Theatre, Alex
will perform for at least a year. He also said, “It's going to be completely
different from the summer when I was touring with Rita, doing Radio One's Big
Weekend and going to festivals throughout the UK and abroad to Italy.
"It will be
so nice to be settled in one place with a regular wage and regular performing.
It's what every dancer wants. The great thing about Thriller is that you have
the option to extend your run so if I like it I may decide to do it for longer.”
Alex got his
training at the Urdang Academy in London and completed at Preston and Westfiel
